Rihanna about Chris Brown separation
Chris Brown, Rihanna March 22, 2009
Rihanna ‘s mentor, Evan Rogers, spoke to EW.com on Tuesday about the fallout between her and Chris Brown last month. As for whether she’s aware of the attempts by figures like Oprah Winfrey and Dr. Phil to reach out to her, “I think she’s very aware of everything that’s going on,” Rogers says. “Just like anyone else, she watches TV, she goes online.
And I think that it matters to her. She’s doing the best she can and this is a very difficult time that she’s going through right now and she’s going to learn a lot from it.” Rogers says Rihanna is concerned about the effect the situation will have on her young fans. “But at the end of the day, I think that most people still see her as the victim in this situation,” he says. “But I think that when the dust settles, she’s going to be fine.”
Troubled couple Rihanna and Chris Brown are actually “taking a break” from each other and hanging out on separate coasts, according to the latest anonymously sourced scuttlebutt on E! Online.
But why bother with the speculation when EW.com has an exclusive interview with veteran music producer Evan Rogers (Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson), who was the one who discovered Riri in Barbados and has worked closely with her ever since.

“I think she’s very aware of everything that’s going on. Just like anyone else, she watches TV; she goes online,” Rogers says about the media coverage that has included everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Tyra Banks speaking about the alleged Feb. 8 assault by Brown on Rihanna.
“And I think that it matters to her, but there’s a line that she walks between being human and caring when you hear these kinds of things, and separating your personal life from your professional life.”
As far as the reported duet that was recorded last week? “There’s no duet that’s been recorded other than the one” — called “Bad Girl” — “that was a bootleg track from months before. Those were just rumors.”
And, finally, what about all the influential young fans and the message being sent to them? “I think that most people still see her as the victim in this situation,” Rogers says. “The bottom line is Rihanna is a superstar and like other artists, the reception from her fans will mostly depend on how good an album she makes next time out and how great the songs are.”
