Over the weekend, the slimefest that is Nickelodeon’s annual Kids’ Choice Awards took place. Though Sandra Bullock, one of the most hyped appearances of this year, announced she wouldn’t be at the ceremony for personal reasons, the awards show went on as expected: with lots of laughter, slime and, of course, the big winners, as E! On November 6th, Jay-Z will release a new album inspired by the forthcoming Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe movie American Gangster, meaning he has now un-retired twice. The MC/label head, who declared he was quitting the game after releasing 2003’s The Black Album, says he found inspiration to pen tracks after watching the film, which tells the story of Seventies Harlem heroin dealer Frank Lucas. “It was like I was watching the film, and putting it on pause, and giving a back story to the story,” Jay told the New York Times.

Snoop Dogg is offering up some advice to newlyweds Jay-Z and Beyonce. He says the key to having a happy marriage is to start a family.
He recently told People magazine, "I told them to go home and make babies. They should, that's the next step as far as marriage, having kids ... add on to the family, so hopefully that's what they'll do."
Snoop also says it's all about communication. He says, "Communication, and being able to fight and get back up. To have misunderstanding and get some understanding."

Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter and Beyonce Knowles have bought their first house as husband and wife - in the same New York county that they wed in last month.
The newlyweds exchanged vows in a private ceremony at a chapel in Scarsdale Village in Westchester County on April 4, before holding a reception at the rapper's luxury penthouse apartment in the TriBeCa area of New York City.
